Caring for Others: How Alabuga International School Celebrated Children’s Day

AIS students welcomed summer and did a good deed
On June 1, Alabuga International School celebrated Children’s Day with a vibrant, large-scale event. The celebration brought together students, their parents, and employees of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone for a charitable cause: raising funds for the treatment of a boy battling cancer. Thanks to the participants’ generosity, the fundraising activities raised an impressive total of 607,000 rubles.

The day began with a charity fundraising drive. Donation points were set up at the entrances to the Yakovlev and Kurchatov office centers, where Alabuga SEZ employees could contribute and support the child in his fight against the disease.

The celebrations then moved to the Three Bears residential community, where a charity fair took place. Students and their parents sold homemade dishes, sweets, and handmade crafts. The children took on the roles of entrepreneurs, setting up their stalls and competing to demonstrate their sales skills for a good cause.

After the fair, a charity run took place through the Three Bears settlement. Students, parents, and teachers ran a two-kilometer course in solidarity with those facing serious illness. At the finish line, all participants posed for a commemorative photo with a banner reading “Uniting Hearts Against Cancer.”

The day concluded with the launch of homemade kites at the historic Yelabuga settlement. AIS students, together with children from local schools and kindergartens, sent a lot of colorful kites into the sky, competing to keep them aloft in the air currents for as long as possible. The winners of the kite festival earned the opportunity to attend an AIS summer camp.
