The visit included lessons for Turkish students in robotics and programming, where they learnt how to use motors to move, stop and turn, and mastered the use of an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles.
In addition, a team-leading programming tournament and sports competitions between AIS and Bilge Koleji students were held. The delegation of Alabuga International Shcool also shared their experience of learning financial literacy with their Turkish peers using the example of the Business Cuts business simulation.
There were also national events. For example, Bilge Koleji International School organised a celebration of national sovereignty and Children's Day, during which Bilge Koleji students presented musical numbers in Russian. Among other things, students and teachers learnt about the infrastructure of Izmir and visited historical sites.
‘We strive to ensure that our pupils develop a global mindset and we try to organise regular international trips as part of exchange programmes between schools,’ said AIS Primary School Coordinator Ksenia Kolesnikova. - ‘Such trips promote intercultural communication and learning based on the principles of openness and respect for different cultures. Thanks to such trips, children learn a lot of new things, which contributes to their all-round development. Visiting foreign schools allows students to get unique experience and knowledge".
As a result of the trip, the management of AIS and Bilge Koleji schools agreed on an annual exchange of students.
