“Science Is Magic”: Alabuga International School Hosted New Year’s Celebration
The year came to a spectacular close at Alabuga International School
A festive New Year’s event marking the close of the year took place at Alabuga International School. For one evening, the school was transformed into a wizarding world inspired by the Hogwarts Academy from the Harry Potter series. Students and staff embraced the theme by wearing costumes of iconic characters from the popular film franchise, creating an immersive atmosphere of wonder and creativity.
The festive event was opened with a welcoming speech by Elvira Fomina, Head of the Administration Service of the Educational Cluster. She recognized the academic achievements of AIS students and presented awards to the winners of regional, national, and international Olympiads in STEM subjects, as well as in English and Chinese.
The official programme was followed by a theatrical performance titled “Science Is Magic,” prepared by AIS students. The production highlighted the idea that true magic is found in knowledge, innovation, and scientific discovery. According to the plot, the main characters face sudden disappearance of magic, plunging the magical world into confusion. They set off on an exciting journey through the world of science, proving that any magic can be explained by scientific laws.
During the performance, the young artists vividly demonstrated how physics, engineering, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, the logic of chess, astronomy, and even musical creativity can become sources of true magic.
