The international robotics contest RoboFinist
The international robotics contest RoboFinist took place in St. Petersburg on the 23th of October. The team from our school won the first place in the free creative category.
Students Nariman Shafikov and Anvar Maulin, together with Mr Max, the robotics coordinator, developed Robot Nurse 2.0. It is able to move around the hospital using ultrasonic sensors and dispense medicine to patients according to their individual RFID-marks. This robot would take away some of the routine tasks for medical staff and reduce the risk of infection.

About 1,200 participants from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan competed between each other. During the event, the participants presented their projects, answered questions from the judges, justified the relevance of the developments and calculated their cost and viability.

"The RoboFinist festival was the most productive and interesting contest for us. In our discipline, the winners directly were announced at the award ceremony, and we did not know our result in advance. We were overwhelmed with emotion when we heard that Alabuga International School took first place. Our team has come a long and hard way, we have been working for more than a year, and finally we got the highest result - gold medals," said Mr. Maxim.
