AIS students celebrated International LEGO Day

They participated in competitions involving LEGO constructors to develop attention, memory, thought and imagination

The overall 1st place in the engineering competition was taken by Grade 5. In the first part of the competition they managed to build a tower of LEGO cubes 118 cm high in the allotted time, which was only the 4th result, as the highest tower 140 cm high was built by Grade 4. But after completing the stage with the construction of a complex gear train, Grade 5 scored a winning 16 points and was in 1st place. The closest competitors from Grade 4 took 2nd place. In 3rd place was Grade 6.

It is worth noting that all students did an excellent job with the tasks and were able to consolidate the skills of building with LEGO constructor, which is an effective means of developing engineering thinking.
PYP Early Ages
KG-1 and Grade 1 students launched LEGO transportation based on jet air power, which they constructed from balloons

KG-2 students participated in a LEGO truck competition. They had to choose the most suitable LEGO-truck combination to transport the largest amount of firewood in the shortest possible time
PYP & MYP
PYP and MYP students competed to build the tallest LEGO tower. The challenge was to build a tower that would stand for 10 seconds in 5 minutes
PYP & MYP
They also took part in a competition to build the longest transmission line out of LEGO gears. It had to be actuated by only one element of the chain
